We are Cole and Donna, a retired couple living and cooking in rural West Texas. We love good food, a well-planned meal, and the satisfaction of putting something memorable on the table.
Life in the Chihuahuan Desert gives everyday cooking its own set of challenges. A grocery trip is not always quick or convenient, so we plan carefully, keep a dependable pantry and freezer, make ingredients last, and learn to use what we already have before heading back to town.
We believe distance from the grocery store should never mean settling for dull meals. Whether we are cooking a simple supper for two, making something in cast iron, planning meals around a supply run, or finding a smart way to use leftovers, our kitchen is always a work in progress—and we enjoy it that way.
